Arc de Triomphe

  1. Love this photo – it’s beautiful (and I also met my husband at the Arc de Triomphe on a study abroad trip so it brings back great memories)! Love the quote too. πŸ™‚

  2. Random question unrelated to this post….. Do you mind sharing what camera and lens(es) you use?? Also, have you always been into photography? Or is it a recent hobby? In the last three years I’ve become obsessed with photography, so I always try to learn from other photographers whenever I can. πŸ™‚

    • I use a Canon SLR that is about ten years old and the regular lens that comes with it most of the time, sometimes a telephoto. I often use a UV filter over the lens. Sometimes, I use my iphone. I have not really had any formal training and my photos really aren’t processed (unless they are done on the smartphone) as I do not have the time or patience to figure out photoshop. The one class I took was a silly community education class that was a waste of time. I do love it, though. When I travel, people don’t usually know what I look like because I am always looking at everything with my camera plastered to my face.

      • Thanks so much for sharing! I’m a Canon girl, too! And I love the creative outlet that photography provides. I was always really interested in photography, and then when my first child was born I decided to really dive in. I’m thinking about starting a small business, focusing on babies, children, families, and births. Your photos are beautiful. Keep shooting!

  3. My 82 year old father has late-stage Parkinson’s disease. He has no life anymore and needs aides around the clock. It breaks my heart to see my once vital, alive father deteriorate so much. He once said to me, “There are worse things than dying.” At first I didn’t want to hear it, but if there’s nowhere left to go, now I understand.
